Polymer clay (jewelry box) questions?
I’m planning to make a tiny jewelry box for a school project. So I’ve decided to make it with polymer clay, I’ve already bought the materials though I’m not sure if they’re the ones I should be using to achieve the design for my jewelry box.
My planned design is highly detailed with a lot of ornaments and embossed decoration on..
Something like these styles..

I’m having a problem with the clay I find it too hard, should I use a clay softener or will that make it too soft/liquify? It’s also irritating me how easy the clay breaks off and how hard it is to fix it especially when it’s the… Continue reading Polymer clay (jewelry box) questions?...

HELP wedding jewelry… antique or vintage style?
I need help finding wedding jewelry. I want a hair clip/pin and a cuff bracelet that are vintage or antique style. I really like art deco pieces… does anyone know any good websites I can browse/purchase these items. I have seen things I like on the www.Tejani.com site but they are 2-400$$ which is a little steep for me.. so if you can recommend some place that has similar styles at reasonable prices that would be AMAZING! Thanks!

A Beautiful Piece of Art Deco Jewellery, Would Make A Great Gift
CynthiaFindlay.com Cynthia Findlay presents a stunning piece of Art Deco Jewellery. This Art Deco brooch was featured at her booth during the 2009 Washington DC Antiques, Art & Jewelry Show this October. This platinum, rock crystal, onyx, coral and diamond brooch is an exquisite example of the Art Deco style, which was a popular International design movement between the 1920′s and 1940′s. Characteristically streamlined and geometric, this piece demonstrates how Art Deco Jewellery could also be extremely elegant and refined. Find this brooch and other antique and Art Deco jewellery at Cynthia Findlay Antiques and Estate Jewellery. Our website is currently under construction, so please visit our blog at http or come visit us in person at 284 King Street West in Toronto.

Antique jewelry question: Mystery bracelet?
have a fairly heavy, dramatic bracelet that is maybe Victorian, looks old. It probably dates from before 1900, at least.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie…
I took a magnifying glass to it, and I don’t see that it is marked in any way. But, assuming it is old, if it’s American, it might not be marked, regardless.
The original clasp was probably where any marks were, if there were any to begin with. The fold-over Deco clasp I would guess is a replacement and looks plated.
It appears to be a Renaissance/Gothic Revival bookchain panel bracelet. The panels are on a backing of mesh that looks tarnished/sterling, as well.
The tarnish can be removed with silver polish, I found. I lightly polished just the high spots, not into the… Continue reading Antique jewelry question: Mystery bracelet?...
